Overround
Meaning
The amount by which a complete market’s implied probabilities exceed 100%.
Worked Example
Two sides priced at −110 each imply about 52.38%. Their sum is about 104.76%, giving a 4.76% overround.
Common Mix-Up
Overround is not the same quantity as a sportsbook’s realized hold. Draws and pushes need their own treatment.
